Just wondering for those who have high millage on there 4.0 V6 did you notice much loss of power when you got up there in millage?

Nope she still drops to 3rd and screams when I punch it at 70mph.

I have 175,000 on my 06 and 220,000 miles on my 08 and both seem just as strong as when I got them.

Lol... You bring up a good point most people sitting in the passenger seat would say it's a V8 after a 70 mph pass on the highway!

I'm not in the 100k club yet, but getting really close. Still performs pretty good for a V6. Pulls strong to about 100, then things get a little bouncy, but then again it's got the aerodynamics of a brick and hauling ass isn't what it was built for

I have 215K on my 05 and I still pull a camper through the Ozarks every year and running plenty strong.

I have the 2005 LE with close to 252k Miles and still is strong and fast love the instant power on the 4.0 compared to the 2016 3.5L

Performance reduction in older engines is nowadays more due to dirty sensors, old sensors, dirty throttle body rather than blowby as in the olden days.

And all of this can be controlled with good maintenance.

(from the Maxima and 350Z forums I used to be on, I can say that VQ engines generally to not suffer significant blowby until very very high mileage,.... in an extreme case , even tho this is not a VQ but another big Nissan engine.., a well used VH45de was taken apart and was shown to still show visible honing marks! )
