Looking to get a new Pathfinder/ maybe 4 Runner

So I really like my 06 Pathfinder. It's only got around 140k miles on it. I just really want something newer and maybe more reliable. I've taken my bumps and bruises on this thing. I had a lot replaced over the years.

I'm trying to decide if a 2011 Pathy is pretty solid or do I need to go to the 2012 for the most reliable r51. My other choice is to destroy the budget and get a 2010-2011 4Runner with around 80k miles on it.

I've seen a few 2012 Pathys for under 16k with around 60k miles on them. The 4Runner is closer to 23-24k with 80k miles.

Thoughts? Also feel free to recommend any other solid 4x4 with room for family stuff.

2011 and 2012 were both good years because they finally had the major bugs (i.e. timing chains, radiator coolers) corrected by then. My biggest issue with Toyota trucks is the seating position; it is low to the floor and not very comfortable for long traveling distances.

I have a 2011 as well. Has been pretty trouble free to be to be honest. With what SMJ said, I agree with regarding the Toyota trucks. The seat in my Tacoma, when I had it, was pretty low. It was a base PreRunner, so I'm sure the higher end models had more adjustability to the seats than mine did. But yeah, not quite sports car seating, but not quite truck seating either. The 4runners do hold their value though as I'm sure you've noticed. As a ballpark estimate, how much do you owe on yours and how much are you willing to spend?

Does the 4runner have third row seating? I think it is available on some 4runner models but pretty standard on the pathfinder. Also Is the 4 runner solid rear axle?

If your okay with unibody - with more room- Honda Pilot ?

My pathfinder has been paid off for years. I'd imagine it's worth 3-5k. I'm trying to stay under 22k total, but closer to 17k is ideal. My pathfinder is so functional. I found a 2011 Pathfinder LE fully loaded with 56k miles, with some off road tires, a slight lift, some exhaust work and and the injen cols air intake. for 17k. It's a 2 hour drive for me to get up there to drive test drive it but the truck looks clean.

If i were to buy another pathfinder i would search for the v8 model mpg wont matter once you run more aggressive tires or mild lift.
