leak help needed

Wondering if you folks could help me identify this possible leak. What could it be and the repair needed. I am not able to post a picture at this time.
2008 Nissan Frontier V6 Automatic Crew Cab pickup with 104k miles. Rear diff fluid if fine and full and just changed. Brake fluid resevoir is full.
Looking at my right rear wheel from under the truck,it looked like a film of oil was on the splash guard. Wasnt any fresh fluid there. I wiped it all down and will keep an eye on it. I hear it was probably a rear axle seal beginning to leak. How hard of a job would this be to replace?
Any ideas?
