What is this piece?

I cant get a picture to upload, but can anyone tell me what this piece is and/or does?
2006 PF right behind the engine oil pan..a black plastic panel, about maybe 6 inches long, maybe 4 wide..shaped to fit the front part of the transmission housing and held on with what looks like one 10mm bolt on the bottom. Mine looks like it has a little bit of oil at the bottom, but it doesnt seem like a piece that would be holding back any fluids.
