Restart problems after stalling

Hi all,
I’ve got a 2008 diesel (YD25) on a 6-speed manual/standard transmission. For the past couple of years, if I accidentally stall it, the engine won’t stay running when I start it back up, and I need to let the vehicle sit for a couple of minutes before it’ll start up properly again. Thankfully I don’t stall very often, but it’s terrible when it happens in traffic, and I have to sit there like a dick for a couple of minutes!! 😳 Any thoughts?
I’ve recently had the EGR valve replaced; though this was happening before as well.
