coolant leak, heater hose to block

Just bought a 2006 Pathfinder with 4.0

Have a coolant leak where the 2 coolant hoses connect to the drivers side of the engine block.

What do you think is going on?

It leaks a lot while sitting.

I can't imagine that the gasket there has gone bad (could it have) I would guess the metal has corroded and no longer seals.

What is that connection called?

Anyone else dealt with this? I have searched and could not find anyone with the same problem.

Thank you in advance for your help!

to pinpoint the leak, clean & dry the area thoroughly.
spray an even coat of aerosol (Dr Scholls) foot powder over the area.
watch for the wet spot as the coolant leaks out and dampens the dried powder.

Haven't seen a leak there before, but there's always a first! FYI, there's also a drain outlet in that area for when the chain-driven water pump develops a leak at the impeller shaft seal. That way, it doesn't leak coolant into the engine where it would be "not so good!"

It was def leaking from that connector.

It dripped steady even with the engine off.

I took it off, ditched the thin metal gasket, put a thin layer of Ultra Black on it.

Put it back together and filled it back up.

Wife drove it around today and it hasn't leaked a drop.

Next onto the valve cover gaskets which are leaking a bit of oil and I should have it leak free.

Thanks for listening to me and if anyone else has this problem perhaps this will help them.

Nissan simply calls #10 a "water pipe" in the part catalog, P/N 21022-EA20A. The gasket for it is P/N 13050-31U05. Ultra black RTV should work fine!
