Did a drain and refill on the tranny yesterday with a buddy.
The quantity replaced was slightly bigger than th 4 quarts often quoted.
Maybe because its a V8 tranny.
Did the gallon jug (4 qts) plus half of an additional bottle for a total of 4.5 qts.
There appeared to be no overfill...
It is a the V8 version of our transmissions though and I understand there are some minor difference to the V6 version, but 4.5 qts is what was used.

It's the same trans, but I've had 4.5-5L come out with my v6. The valvoline maxlife atf I use comes in 5L bottles.

I also thought they were the same tranny ( have same name) but I alo fund out the V8 version has extra clutch acks and according to one source weighs slightly more.

The only difference would be the torque converter. Which may increase overall fluid capacity, but would not change the amount in the oil pan.

I know for certain the clutch packs are (also?) different.
I dont remember what the source was but it was something from Nissan and it also makes sense.

What can you tell me aboutthe torque converter?
Do you know what's different?
is it larger or just upgraded in a specific way?
