After 2500 miles my oil still looks near new

This was combined city driving and (some hard) highway driving.
Pasted oil nomenclature:
VALVOLINE™ FULL SYNTHETIC HIGH MILEAGE WITH MAXLIFE.
I used the 10w-30.

Oil still looks near new.
This is very encouraging to me as Highmilage oils are often (among other things) high detergent oil and for it to not get dark quickly means my engine internals are nice and clean.

No detectable oil consumption in those 2500 miles seems to signal the same.
So perhaps I dont need a high milage formulation despite going on 170,000 miles?

Either way it seems to work nicely.

I'm sure mine is higher mileage than yours and less well cared for and I went straight to Amsoil Signature Series LOL So far so good.

3200 miles.
Definitely does not look "New" anymore (last 700 miles were mostly in-town) but not all that dirty either.

Just gotta chime in that it's so nice to have the same level all the time. After driving American cars for the last 10 years and ALWAYS adding oil it is SOooo nice to drive a vehicle that doesn't burn a lick of oil. Oil's cheap I'll replace it as often as it needs it!!!

I run the Pennzoil Synthetic in my R51. Figure may as well prolong it's life as long as I can!!!!

Word!
Just changed the oil on this vehicle at 7400 miles and I could not discern any loss in oil level on this 173,000 mile Nissan engine!

Nissan FTW!!! :D

I'm starting to think these engines are wunderkinds.

I have a dated 03.05 Pathfinder with ~295k kms, which would have been an early manufacture of this engine.
I replaced the the rocker cover gaskets last weekend (small seep), and the innerds were sparkling clean, even under the rockers.

My oil always comes out like Jed Clampett dug it out himself, no matter what interval I choose....black gold.

Toyotas and Mercedes have nothing on our engines.
