High flow cats and precats....

Hey guys just putting a feeler out there to see what the response is like. Not sure if many of you know but I'm Joe from Racingline Performance, right now we make high flow precats and cat delete down pipes for the Altima and Maxima crowd. Just curious on what the response would be for something similar over here.

As most of you know, both precats ( the ones off the manifold) and the down stream cats are prone to failure, mainly the Precats and they are VERY expensive if bought from Nissan. The secondary cats that are easily seen on the Pathy are not metered in any way so removing them would have ZERO impact on the cars ECU or it's fuel mixtures.

Our Ypipe (deletes the unmetered cat)on the FWD VQ35 see gains of 13whp and 14wtq, while our high flow precats see an additional 8hp and 14 tq and feature fully Stainless steel metallic core cats that will not break down like the oem ceramic. AL the while producing a nice G35/FX like sound.

Here is a picture of the FWD version, the ones on the PF are different but it give you the idea. I know the demographic is quite different but at the same time who doesn't want a little extra punch :)

Anyways let me know your thought and concerns and if the interest is there I'll go the next step and start testing. ( mods if I need to do anything vendor wise please feel free to PM me, but right now this is just a feeler thread)

Bring it on. I'd love a pair of secondary cats. The only problem I see is that my o2's are in front of the primary cat & to the rear of the secondary cat. Wouldn't that cause a check engine light to coem on ?

I can personally attest to the quality and performance of these precats. I purchased these for my 2005 Altima, and I've seen a definite increase in low-end pickup, along with slightly better gas mileage (its hard to tell when I'm lead-footing around town). I would definitely be interested if you could design these for the VQ40DE!

The reason I went with these for my Altima was due to the OEM precat disintegrating and destroying my EGR. Luckily, no metal particles made it back to my intake, so the engine was spared any damage. However, the total cost for repairs from Nissan was $2,100 (I was just outside warranty). Racingline offered the precats for ~$550 for the pair, as opposed to $800 for a single OEM through Nissan. Installation was simple, and I have been extremely satisfied since.

I just checked the website, and it seems Racingline doesn't offer any Pathfinder performance or upgrade parts... what gives, RL?

Just wanted to note that if these were available for the 4.0L I would purchase them. Thank you.

If we can get B pipes with Highflow cats for better price then Stillens I am in.

I have been comparing the parts for our V8's to Titan/Armada 07+. like
Headers, B - Pipes with 2nd cats. OEM have same part #'s.
Stillen makes B pipes with High flow cats. but they are $500+

I am going to try to install LT headers with B pipes with highflow cats and install the 2nd set of O2 sensors after the highflow cats. I am in process of installing custom Cat back system with 2.5 ss pipes, flowmaster 70 bb2, 2pipes 2.5 in and 1 tail pipe 2.5 out.

Nice. I love my V8 but hard to find parts for it that are designed for the pathfinder. I have to look up parts for the titan/armada.

So, any updates on this? Spend less, to fix a known problem, all the while gaining HP & TQ....sounds like a win win.
