The Nissan Path

i just puchased a 07 path se with 104,000 on it the car was like a dream runs good looks great i love it . but after reading the issues with coolant in the transmission and being a bodyman i desided to get under the truck and preform this bypass but while doing so found out that i was already a victim . my questions are can i just flush out the trans and replace the radiator or am i doomed to replace my transmission? thanks to any and all.

The prognosis is not good. However, draining and filling several times may help you if the leak just occured. Whatever you do, don't drive it like this.

How close to "Just" purchased do you mean? And did you get it from a dealer? If so I'd hit them up hard for compensation...

just purchased as in on sat 03-03-2012. i have no idea of how far along it could be imma try to talk to the dealership because they said they inspected the entire vehichle and they should have caught that. would there be a way of telling how far along it could be? and i dont have to replace with a new one i could get a new radiator and a used tranny right?

All indications on the forum here are that if you have strawberry shake, you're toast, period, forget it. Yes you could flush and pray, but with a dealer to go back to you should do that ASAP.

Anybody have the TSB regarding handling of failed radiators & transmissions for this? Being able to quote Nissan chapter & verse goes even farther to show they should have known about it.

wow, alyoung, this a rough way to start out
though some may have gotten by (for now, anyway) with a flush & bypass (or a flush & new radiator), i don't think it will work in the long run
probably contamination amount, time, and mileage with that condition will determine that
also, how thoroughly you get the contaminated fluid purged out of there may have an influence on the long term
i could not find any TSBs on this issue, which does not surprise me in that Nissan would probably not like to acknowledge it on paper
did you buy it from a Nissan dealership?
did you get any kind of warranty (hopefully written) with the truck?

yeah im a lil upset about the whole ordeal. i didnt get it from a nissan dealer but i spoke to the dealer i got it from and told them that they should have caught this before reselling the vehichle and they agreed to check it out and see what they can do. but just so i can know im gonna basically need to replace the tranny and radiator am i corrrect?

Correct.

Most used car dealers will have some basic warranty period such ss 30 days for you to return the car if you have any problems. I wish you the best.

What is the best way of checking for "milkshake like oil ?"
Through the atf dip stick ? All these threads on this make me nervous

Yes the part number is 21460 XXXX is that the demon radiator or can i unclinch my fist an patch up the holes in my drywall..
