2008 pathfinder trans/radiator question

New here to this site, so sorry if i am redundant in anything.
I've been doing some research on the bypass for the trans. coolant lines and have seen how important this is .

so here's my question. My wife & i just bought a used 2008 pathfinder with 69,700 miles on it. Very clean, good service record..BUT..i've been reading about the bypass on these and the cooler plumbing is different than on the 2005/2006 models than it is on the 2007 and up. Does this mean the problems are gone for the 07's and up??? I can't seem to find a GOOD answer on this and am kinda worried. I looked at the radiator and it's def. the original, checked the fluid and it looks good, it drives good...so...??

im sure theres a way to bypass somehow, but again, its an 08.--not an 05/06
what would u do??

i don't think there is a good answer (yet)
the extended warranty (more info here): campaignhttp://www.nissanassist.com/web/Radiator/index.php?menu=20
covers 2005-2010 models, so the plumbing differences don't necessarily mean the problems are gone
the good news is, because of your year & mileage, you're still covered by the warranty extension

the by-pass procedure is very similar to the 2005-2006 models, though i don't know the specifics on the differences (mine are both 05's)
perhaps someone else will fill in that gap for you
BTW: welcome to the forum :)

So even though I purchased the pathfinder at a local used dealer (not nissan), i can take it to nissan and tell them want the radiator replaced under warranty and they will do it?...or is there some haggling i need to do with them?

I absolutely hate going to the dealer and usually work on my own vehicles

only if it fails within the extended warranty period
refer to the link i sent in my post above
it is an extended warranty campaign, not a recall campaign

i'm with you 200% there :)
that's why i by-passed both of mine, even though they were not beyond the warranty extension at the time

Gotcha...Well i guess i will keep an eye on it for now..I clicked on the link u posted but for some reason my computer wont let me access it. Oh well.I pulled down the skid plate today again and looked over the setup. I think i can still bypass it, it just has a diff. setup than the 05/06 models and may take some more hose & brain use....

If anyone has anymore info to post, it is very much appreciated

2007 Pathys are having cooler problems...and I've heard of a couple of 08 models, too, but not many....yet! Stay tuned!

Well, I got under my wife's new pathfinder today for the 3rd time and finally decided to just do the bypass tonight. I went and got a 2 ft section of transmission cooler hose from NAPA and a double ended brass barb fitting and some clamps.

The process is very similar to the 05/06 models, just the hoses run a little different towards the auxilary cooler...it only took me about 30 min. to do it.

So far it runs great (she doesnt to much towing!) And it gives me a little piece of mind.

Let me know if anyone else has done this on their 07/08 or even 09's
