problem with 2nd gear 08 Pathfinder manual

My car seems to stall very easily in 2nd, which seems to have a slightly insufficient power ratio( or something- I'm not a mechanical thinker)
About 8 months after I got the car I burnt the clutch out once doing some driving thru sand- and was really surprised at the time that such a thing would happen in what seemed not a hugely challenging drive.
(It was replaced under warranty)
So now I'm a bit hesitant about how it might perform when I'm travelling and towing a campertrailer.
Any ideas
