Hey all,

So I finally decided to replace my transfer case fluid after all this time. The manual says to use Matic D or Dex/Merc III. I had some dex iii kicking around so I decided to use that.

The fluid i drained out wasn't in too bad of shape, but it definitely was not ATF, as it was not red. Kinda concerns me a bit, as I followed the manual and put dex III ATF into it.

Thoughts? Did I screw up?

When I drained mine it was brown. No problems after 6,000miles. you're good!

When I changed mine it was pretty dirty as well. Put new in and everything seems to be working just fine. I used valvoline maxlife ATF.
