Hello,

Just picked up a 05 pathfinder and wondering what you guys out there are getting in mileage.

I am getting just around 400 KM for city driving. Continuous HWY driving may 500 pushing it.

Is this the best a pathfinder can do ? What are you guys/gals getting out there.

I am a Canadian Owner.

They don't do well on gas mileage and they do best on long, highway runs (versus around town or stop-and-go driving) and they also tend to do best when you use cruise control a lot and avoid mashing the gas pedal. I gained 2 mpg combined average once I started to use the cruise control as much as possible and avoided putting more foot on the pedal than actually needed, if you know what I mean! I have a 2006 LE 4.0L AWD that can get 19.5 to 20.5 mpg on a long trip of mostly highways and interstate driving using 87 octane regular unleaded and driving 65-75 mph average. Around town, though, that drops to around 16.5 mpg. Overall, I'm typically seeing 17.5 mpg combined. You'll have to do the conversion math for kilometers!

There are too many variables using that method. The best I find is to convert miles travelled by gallons pumped. I find that the on-board avg MPG gauge is rather accurate and often reset it in checking MPG on various short trips.

Be sure that tire pressure is proper. I go beyond the mfg door sticker to a 40psi.
Some types of tires do not lend themselves to good mpg.

How many liters in for the 400kms? On my 05 400kms takes about 60-65L, depnding on the duty cycle.

I'm getting the same, pretty much. BUT, if I had bought the exact same set of tires, I'm sure I'd get better.

Keep in mind the tank is no where near empty when it says it is. I've hit 410 miles (660ish km) on 20 gallons. This was 40 miles after the DTE said "0". I typically run 75 or so on the highway and get 20-21mpg with some traffic mixed in.

Yup, this happened to me last weekend. Gas warning came on. Drove around a few miles before filling up. It only took 18gal (~68L).

I use regular(87oct) gas.I can get 20-21mpg highway when I set the cruise to 70mph. 19-20mpg when I'm running 75-80mph. City driving I get 15-17mpg depending on how much traffic.
