U joint replacement

Hey guys.
Im sure this topic is on here a few times.
I have an 06 and wanted to see if there is a sticky with pictures showing U joint replacement?

I'm sure there was one a while ago on the forum... But I can't find it. There are a couple good Youtube videos (not Nissan specific, but they get the point across).
I'd post them, but work blocks all Youtube vids...

I observed my neighbor do mine, basically after you get the circlips out, you need the right sized socket and a Big F(&*^ing Hammer and you wail on the pin until it comes out. Then you pop in the new one and wail on it until its back in, and put the circlip back in.
A good job for someone with some pent up rage...

You can also use a U-joint press (available for rent at most auto part stores) or a large bench vise and a socket slightly smaller than diameter of the u-joint bearing cap to press the bearing caps out/in.

assuming you have to remove the entire drive shaft to replace both front and back u joints, how heavy is that thing? It looks all aluminum, but is this safely a one man job? Unbolt the 4 bolts to the rear diff pinion and drop the shaft down and slide it out?

It's hollow inside the shaft, so it's not that heavy. Have a bucket ready in case any fluid comes out of the tailshaft housing.

You may want to put the rear diff on stands so that way you can turn the drive shaft to get at all the nuts and bolts easier. Since the fronts have lock tite on the nuts/bolts, I'd imagine its the same for the rear.
It'll be tight, but if you have something to lengthen the wrench (metal pipe), it'd help.

it has a nearly identical setup to our Paths. It's a howoto for the U-joint. I've even done it so it's not that bad. It's a little bit of a pain breaking the bolts loose but you'll get it.
