$80 for labor to install

did some before and after videos. the 'growl' in the before video is the intake, it's kinda loud right at the 3k rpm mark. now the exhaust kind of is too at the same mark. it's spot on for what i was wanting. it's not too loud and is barely audible in-cabin with the windows up. it's more noticeable with the windows down, but definitely not annoying.

i don't have an ext mic yet (should be here any day) so it's just the on-camera mic. i put it on medium sensitivity instead of letting it try and auto level. if you don't have a sub or good bass you probably won't notice the difference.

really love the startup growl now too :)

driving around, before magnaflow. i'm not -this- aggressive all the time, was mainly doing it to try to bring out the engine noise. on the highway i'll keep it or put it into 3rd when i need to get around traffic. just simpler that way rather than always waiting for the tranny to downshift when passing.

i have a couple more 'before' vids that are still processing. i'll post them in the thread later.

i'll try and get some after videos of in-cabin. it's heavenly to me. it's got a nice growl down load and now has a nice subtle backpedal sound when letting the engine decelerate the car (like keeping it in 1 or 2 and engine braking).

here's an after vid. i have a few more uploading, but i didn't realize one was over a gig so it's gonna take awhile.

luckily this one has a pretty good 1st-2nd pull like that last one.

this one is with windows up.

also sorry for the 'jingly' sound in the vids. you definitely can't hear that in the cabin, and i think it's the metal parts where the camera strap attaches to the camera. i think it's bouncing just a little, and while it doesn't make any noise, i think the vibration it causes is picked up by the mic as the jingle.

and for those wondering, heres how my dslr was mounted for the videos. i have a manfrotto (3011N) where the legs can go wide, so that gives me side to side stability, then those long two legs brace against the backs of the seat, and then the one leg plants into the rear seat to keep it from going backwards:

and then we have the muffler job:

Hey man thats seems like a good move. So would you same the sound is deeper and more pronounced? Any power difference?

What is the difference with the rear resonator removes anyone?

Thanks

It makes it louder.

Since I have an intake not sure which makes more noise. In the cab, the exhaust doesn't sound "fantastic" but outside it sounds rather nice.

in cab with the windows up, you can tell a slight difference in sound, mainly in the lower tones. however with the airraid you can't really tell a difference in sound volume as the AR makes quite a bit of noise on it's own.

with the windows down you can totally hear it (it's not -loud- to me though though) and it's nice throaty deep full sound. i would say it makes the stock exhaust about 2-3x louder. which if you really think about it isn't all -that- much louder since the oem muffler makes the exhaust pretty quiet.

also keep in mind mine is a v8 and i can't speak for the v6 stock vs aftermarket sound.

Magna Flow

Nice to see others with Magna Flow Muffler.
I had FLow Master BB2 70 series for almost a year without a resonator and found it to be to loud without a resonator.
I changed it 2 months ago with Magna Flow Muffler 14580
5x11x22 size
It replaced the flow mastger perfectly both where same size as oem.
the 22 inch magna flow sounds perfect without resonator.
sounds normal when driving normal.
and sounds loud and deep when you floor it. Ill post some sounds soon to compare. better performance i think then flowmaster and family likes it better when i drive them.
will see how much better performance once i get it upreve tuned.

doctahjones, you ever think about adding some performance b-pipes? They really do add some nice throatiness to the tone with that particular muffler.

yeah it's next on the list. either the bpipes, or an escort 8500 (used). both are ~$150.

but i'm about 60 days away from moving from dallas to denver (can't wait!) so i think i'll have to wait until after that.
