Radiator on a 2012

Hi guys. Just posted over in the 'Introduce Yourself!' sections. My wife and I just picked up a 2012 Pathfinder with 21k miles on it. Its in great condition but I didn't do ANY research on the Pathfinder before we bought it (other then the fact that it had a 3rd row seat and got 22mpg). Now I'm reading that the R51's had a defective radiator and there was even a class action lawsuit that won in court in early 2012. My question is; Do the 2012 Pathfinders have the same defective radiators as the earlier models? If so are they eligible for a replacement from the 2012 class action lawsuit or do you have to wait for something to break before they'll fix it? Finally, if the 2012's still have the bad radiator should I just do the bypass NOW (21k miles) to avoid any future tranny issues? Thanks for the input guys :)

the Nissan extended warranty campaign on the radiator covers 2005-2010 models, so you should be OK

The class action and extended warranties list 2005-2010 models, so apparently they installed the "updated" radiators on '11+.

I think you'll be fine for quite awhile anyway. The failures appear to be more time related than miles...and it appears the failures are just now creeping into 2008 models. So you've got several years before something might happen. I wouldn't modify anything while it's still under warranty...I'm sure they would have no problem denying a warranty claim if your transmission would fail and you had the by-pass in place.

Thanks kind of what I figured, I just wanted to make sure. :) Before I even knew about the failures I was talking to my wife about how its usually better to get later years in a model run because they have time to work out the kinks. Guess I was right in this case, haha. Thanks for the input guys.
