so i'm thinking of replacing the muffler on my '07. what do you guys think of eliminating the y and running 2 pipes straight in to a super 40? flowmaster makes a dual in/dual out 2.5". (stock exhaust is 2.5" right?")
if not, any other suggestions on aftermarket mufflers? I've heard a few clips of r51s with super 40s on them and they sound pretty good
ok

so the more I looked around, the more I'm thinking that perhaps a magnaflow is a better option than this flowmaster. also, is the factory exhaust 2.25" or 2.5"? I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere online. although i'm thinking it's actually 2.25" now. anyone?

Just posted on another Post but I did the Flowmaster super 50 (52458) and not loud but better then the stock muffler I took out.
I think the 40 series would be too loud

iirc, it's two X 2.5 in and one 2.5 out for factory (or at least on my v8 it's two in, one out).
however the magnaflow that i got was two X 2.25in in and one 2.5in out. i didn't really care as the reduction was pretty much right at the muffler.
thanks

Yeah. Mine was 2.25 going in. I ordered the magnaflow 12580 (dual 2.25 in and single 2.5 out) and we are going to put it on in a week or so.
