What does 'Satellite-capable' mean for the 2012 SV radio? Do you need to add hardware to get Sirius/XM? or is satellite not really an option?
thanks

It means if you want satellite radio, the system is capable of it, but you need to purchase the subscription to receive it the broadcast through your system.

Ya know, for '08 my SE has the sat radio and it works out of the box. Just pay for the subscription (which I cancelled recently in six different vehicles and will never give those rat prick Siruis crooks another dime....but I digress).

Mine has a color matched antenna on the roof, right above the windshield. I noticed awhile back when I was considering a newer PF, that a lot of them didn't have that antenna. Some did. So I wonder if they didn't change something for the newer models. It appeared only the Silver and LE had the antenna but I can't swear that was the case. On my '08 the Bose system was a stand alone option and it included the XM.

Yes, anyone would have to pay beyond a free 6 month or similar trial, but I just want to know if anyone can tell me that the '12 SV has the hardware or can be upgraded to receive Sirius/XM. I'm starting to think you have to go with Silver Edition or higher for satellite.

I have a 2012 SV and I haven't seen anything that indicates that I have Sat radio capabilities. It might be available for Silver and LE models with the Bose system.

I don't even have that roof antenna that Skinny is talking about. Just the regular antenna imprinted on the rear cargo glass.

I have a '12 Silver and it has the Bose and Sat system installed. Kind of a waste to me since I won't pay for it but it's there.
If you have it you should be able to switch to "XM". It will have a Channel 1 preview channel, at reduced sound quality, that plays music and has commercials for Sirius/XM.
