I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and the horn and radio controls in the steering wheel stopped working anybody know what the problem could be. Im thinking the its the (47945-3X10A SENSOR ASSY-STEERING ANGLE) but not sure. Has anyone encountered this problem and is it a DIY job.

Usually when the controls on the face of the steering wheel stop working, it is the clockspring. Is the airbag light on as well? You could also check right under the dash by the steering column to make sure the plug has not been undone.

Well, the steering wheel position sensor is related to the VDC system, so with everything else that going on, the one thing they do have in common is the clockspring, aka "spiral cable." You'll likely need to erase the codes and relearn the steering wheel position once you replace the part, which would require a capable scantool.

So it would just be a matter of replacing the spiral cable and clearing the codes?

The steering angle sensor is part of the clockspri ng assembly. Pretty straight forward, just be sure to disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes before removing the air bag. Make sure the steering wheel is straight and be sure to not spin the new clockspring. It should be locked with some kind of plastic retainer. If you spin it before installing it,there is a chance it will break on the inside.

...and re-learning the steering wheel position sensor.
