I've heard of several faulty power window main switches on Pathfinders and Xterras. Yours isn't the first. I've heard of a few who have taken the switch apart and cleaned the contacts and got them working again.

I have an intermittently inop main switch, where the LH rear window will open, but not close most of the time. (window needs to be rolled up from the switch at the rear door armrest)
Which switch are you having trouble with?

i have two friends with Pathfinders and all of us have had to replace our main window switches. Super easy replacement. Two of us had windows that would roll down automatically only to go back up when unplugging the main switch and using the corresponding window's own switch; all of us had windows that could not be operated from the main switch.

Taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts should get you another couple of days of life until it starts to act up again. The swap takes about three minutes.

Switchdoctor.net has the early R51 main switch with the driver's auto feature only (later had both driver and passenger auto features). Their switch is $77 with free shipping but carries a lifetime warranty.

Not sure what year you have but I have the auto up on my '08 and Switchdoctor's aftermarket unit didn't work right. They told me they have had trouble with them and traded me out for an OEM switch.

I did have some luck cleaning my original switch but it only held up a few months and when it failed it rolled my passenger window down and refused to roll it up. Had to take door apart to get the window up so kind of an inconvenience. Wish I would have just replaced it while it was erratic.

Mine just failed a few days ago too. I'll try cleaning it, see what happens.
Mine is an '07 though. So I need both drivers and passenger auto down.

I used the hook part of a file on a nail clipper to pry the last little plastics of the circuit board. Small knife and i scrapped off the sut on both the contact points and rocker and wiped off with a "Q" tip tooth pick would work also.

Make sure when taking it off the door you pry the bottom first and careful

Mine won't do one touch up anymore unless you have to lift the switch thwice or thrice really hard. I might try cleaning the contacts and see if that works.
