Where to mount LED bar

Postby nismopath » Tue May 24, 2016 5:25 pm

Hello, I am new here and have been searching but cannot find my answer. I have seen people mount LED bars to the inside of the bottom bumper opening, but I cannot find out where you are exactly mounting it.
The bottom of the opening is backed by the frame and the top just looks flimsy. Any recommendations?

I used some "L" shaped brackets and mounted straight to the steel bumper. You will need to trip plastic where needed.

This picture was taken when I was changing the front struts so obviously you wont need to remove your tires. :D

I like what you have done, is the frame that easy to screw in to ? If I were to get self-tapping metal screws could I just screw right through the bumper and into the frame?

I drilled through the bumper and used a 3 or 4 inch bolt. The steel is difficult to get through.

I wish I had a better picture. I drilled through the top portion of the steel frame and bolted it on the underside where the red box is. I just dont have a picture of the angle showing the nut.

I like your mounts but I cant make anything like that. I was hoping to use the mounts, like on the link below, that come with it and just use a self tapping screw into the metal ? You don't think any self tapping screw will tap into that steel ?
Or is it possible to mount the bar from the top of the opening ?
