Anyone using them? do they still have the high beam function?
and I know about using them in a non projector housing. I'm running HID's now but one has started to flicker so it's new HID's or try the LED bulbs.
I'm just not sure how high beams work on a LED. they just pump more power into it?
any computer codes get triggered without a separate filament?

Not too many folks have done them yet on R51s and not all were successful.

As a standalone affordable solution which will render you some significant improvement at very modest cost are these brighter bulbs:

I used them in both my Xterra and my R51 with decent success.

Hey Rogue, I had the same flicker issues when we had HIDs so we put these in our pathy:

The low beams are killer but the high beams are a joke. The headlight lens is horribly oxidized. I bought a kit to clean them up but have yet to try it. The low bulbs are three sided, low beams on two and the high beam is the third side (which is a different shaped LED) and should be installed with that side facing downward.

Dont do it. The reflector assembly is made to control and direct the light correctly from the specified bulb type. A halogen filament bulb emits light in a "pattern" different from a HID or an LED source.
