Auto headlights issue

Hey all. Having a bit of an issue with the auto headlights turning off. It stated when I helped a friend jumpstart his R50. Afterwards I noticed that my lights would not consistently go off when set to auto. Sometimes they will after about 30 seconds or so and all is well, but other times they're on until the battery is completely drained. Currently it's parked in my driveway and I've been driving the sis-in-laws Versa. Luckily it's the 1.8 so it's not too lethargic
It seems to me since the problem is intermittent it may be a loose connection somewhere, but haven't seen any near the battery. The lights themselves turn on/off normally when using the switch. I would assume a blown fuse would render them inoperable since the circuit can't complete.
Not sure where to start. Any pointers would be appreciated.
