Main window switch repair...............

Here is an EXCELLENT repair tutorial on how to access & clean the main window switch contacts for the passenger and rear windows.
Oddly there is no mention of the driver door window switch and repairing it, but it's a completely different switch from the other three, and I've never heard of the drivers door window switch being a problem for anyone, only the other three.

Thanks for the share, I just found out that my rear right window doesn't work from the master switch nor the rear door. Hopefully just full with grime that needs to be cleaned off by looking at and cleaning the Pathy from the last week.

On an intermittent basis my driver side window does not perform the auto all the way up. The auto down works, and the front passenger window performs both up and down via one touch auto. Does anyone know if this is caused by a dirty connection or does the switch need replaced? Thanks

Auto operation has a double throw on the same slider as normal up-down, so the most likely cause is crud on the circuit board. Very common, usually the slide contacts just need to be cleaned and greased.

That is good to know. I will attempt to clean the switch this weekend and report back how it worked

Had a few extra minutes this evening to tackle this project. Hardest part was popping the switch panel off the door. Fairly easy repair and seems to be working as normal once again.

Well, today the window switch is back to working some of the time on Auto Up. Any advice, or is it time to order a new switch?

How much is a new switch these days?
I'd be tempted to try the repair again.
No need to do all four, necessarily.
Be sure you scrub those contact surfaces CLEAN!
Somewhere it was suggested to bend the "W" shaped springy contact a bit to make better contact, but I've never had to do that.

If it's the type that has finger-springs on the slider, try bending the fingers so they make a little firmer contact with the board. If that doesn't help then you're probably into a new switch. If that's the case then use the part number off the switch to shop for a replacement, don't go by Make-Model-Year. If the p/n isn't legible, get it from NissanPartsDeal by way of your VIN. The ones with driver's-only Auto and driver-passenger Auto are incompatible and you can literally burn up the new switch.

+1. Use alcohol or contact cleaner at the very least, and I usually use fine steel wool to make sure any and all oxides are removed. Anyway, scrub them bright.

Cool. I will try it again. I followed the process outlined in the video below, with the exception that I did not clean the backside of the motherboard
