Is there supposed to be an led or bulb light to indicate when the headlights or side markers are on?

I don't know of any Nissan that indicates the Parking Lights are on. The R51 only has a High Beam indicator, no discrete headlight indicator. Newer models generally do have one (including the R52), but on most older models you need to look at the backlights in other switches or instruments to tell if the Parks or Heads are lit.
