using navigation while moving

Hello. I am seriously considering buying either a 2006 or 2007 Pathfinder LE with the navigation system. It will be replacing my old Ford Bronco as a winter vehicle. The only thing that I do not like about the nav system is the fact that it cannot be used or programmed when the vehicle is moving. I drive an 04 BMW M3 the rest of the year and the navigation system in that is fully functional while driving. Does anyone know of any way to disable the function on the Pathfinder nav system so that it would work while the vehicle is moving?

I looked at the schematics and it looks like it's programmed to not function when there is a speed signal coming in. You could probably set up a bypass, but it still might not work. Connector m24 pin 6(unified meter control unit) and m94/m95 (display control unit) pin 16 are the connections for the speed signal. The CAN network really makes it hard to bypass. You could always buy a Pathy without nav and put your own in.
