so i want to change out the whole headlight on my pathfinder with some thing like this:

my question, whats the best bang for my buck? and what gives me the brightest headlight.

how difficulty of a project is this to take on? I am somewhat handy, but usually leave car stuff to the professionals.

whats up mr2005,

Here is a link to a thread about how to put in projectors and the ones he used
http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic. ... f66862b426

Now this is my opinion, someone may look at this thread and think completely differently, or have had a different experience; which is fine, I am just giving you my two cents.

I have been looking and looking for a good set of projectors for my 05... bottom line, every aftermarket light I looked at was not very good. For now I just stuck HID's in my stock housing and the glare is acceptable in terms of blinding other drivers, much better than several other vehicles like they had high beams on.

Here's is my reasons for why I didn't buy pre-made projectors:

most have cheap protective UV and anti corrosion coating, so water and salt and dirt will eat the light housing if not carefully cleaned on the regular.

UV light will tarnish plastic quickly and water will yellow plastic

most of the projectors are small and have low quality magnifiers, some have no cut off so your projectors will glare oncoming drivers.

If you do not select the correct bulb, projected light could melt small pea sized holes in your headlight protective plastic. (I saw that in my co-workers '11 GMC 1500)

Removing headlight assembly and replacing, is a task since you have to remove the bumper every single time you need to replace the headlight housing assembly.

I have found that if you truly want to get some good headlights, you have to go with a little DIY.

I purchased OEM style headlight housings, I found some projectors and HID's from the retrofit source:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... cts_id=236

as for fog lights, I found this on the Nissan path,
http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=1568

I followed his instructions, then put morimoto 5five ballasts and bulbs with the fog lights. They get pretty darn hot when the car isnt moving or in the summer, so i run them sparingly unless its cool outside or I am not stopped for extended periods of time.

Like I said, this is just my opinion, If you dont have the time or $ for a custom retrofit, then proceed online. I found these, they look halfway decent, but you can look around for a better price.

The link you posted, those lights look nice, but that means each light housing is $50-$60, and 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for.

The ones you have linked look like pretty much all the other projector housings that are available for the Pathfinder. While a retrofit is the best way to go, it is NOT necessary. If you go with projector housings & throw in your HIDs, it will still be a massive upgrade over the stock reflectors. Just popping HIDs into the stock reflector housings is not the way to do it, regardless of what others might think or say. There are a number of threads here concerning HID installation, including replacement projector housings & the OEM housings. Take some time and go through those and see what other people have done.

The install process isn't difficult, but it will take some time. The biggest part of that is just removing things (grill, bumper, etc.) so that you gain access to the bolts holding in the headlights.
