2008 NPF LE, V-8, 4WD, Auto,.......Drivers side, side view mirror glass (heated), is cracked and needs to be replaced. I don't want to replace the entire unit, just the glass. Have read about replacement glass installed using a hair dryer to soften the adhesive on the back of existing, pop off and replace with new. Any advice?

Nissan sells the mirror glass. There are two different ones for your year, but they run about $20. If it's like the older ones, it clips onto the motor inside the mirror. I would get a new glass from Nissan first, so you can see how it's mounted. They can be easy to crack when installing, if you are not careful. I used to cut a couple pieces of corrugated cardboard about the size of the glass and stack them. I would push the glass into place with the cardboard in front of the glass, which helps even out the pressure across the glass.
