I changed my cabin filters tonight and I believe they were in there from the factory upside down.

i read through the directions from the service manual and it talks about having the arrows point down but these were clearly pointing up.

Anyone else come across this issue??

Mine were opposite of what the service manual states too. I followed what the service manual stated on the replacements.

I change mine about every 15 to 20k miles. They are always filthy when I've replaced them.

I manage a collision shop so I get OEM parts 32% off list. I buy pretty much everything from the dealer.

I've search briefly and can't find it yet, but someone posted a link to a place where you can buy them for less than $8 per filter. I bought several from there and they appear comparable to OEM to me. I'll see if I can find it later.

EDIT: Found it. $8.31 / filter. Can't beat it. http://www.logical-source.com/2005-NISS ... INDER.html

I changed mine at 20K. I checked it at 12K and it wasn't dirty. It's not hard to pull it out and take a look. If it's not dirty, just put it back in.

Not sure if I was the one that originally posted it or not, but I've bought for the PF, the wife's Rav4 and the in-law's 4Runner from there and been very happy with all the filters. I ended up buying 3 of each to help dilute the shipping cost.

Hey Guys,

New to the forums so I apologize if I am ninja'ing this thread but I have a question related to the filters.

We just purchased our 05 Path LE (w/ rear climate control). This is a one owner vehicle but the problem is he had a dog. Every time we kick the AC on it smells like dog then goes away. I immediately checked the filters and they looked to have been just replaced and perfectly clean.

Are there any other filters since we have the rear climate control? Where is the air intake on the inside so I can check for some sort of buildup? Most importantly, anyone have any ideas as to get rid of the smell?

Thanks in advance - Nick.

O'Reilly Auto Parts (Houston) has WIX (vs. no-name) replacements . . . $14.99 for the pair. I'm pickin' up a set tomorrow, in addition to a $21.99 Wix intake air filter. I'm done with Frams that don't fit properly.
