fog light install issues

So I ordered the fog light kit for my 08 path and the stalk went in no problems but the light brackets seem to be off. The small nubs wont even slip into the places they need to go and if I snap the push clip piece in nothing else seems to line up correctly. Part # for rh light is 26150-zq00a and the lh is 26155-zq00a.
Is it me or is there some kinda weird trick the block off covers that were in the bumper came out and went back in no problems
Am I mistaken that the 2008 and the 2010 brackets are the same ? Does the s model use diff parts?
