Noisy Climate Control Fans

My climate control fans (I assume?) are extremely noisy. I can't tell if it's better or worse winter vs. summer. It sounds like a "whirring" behind the vents. It seems to let up when a door is opened. It certainly didn't do this when the Pathfinder was new. Has anyone else experienced this?

The cabin air filters are supposed to be replaced every 15,000 miles. Your Pathy uses two filters, aligned side by side. Lower your glove box all the way down; you'll need to squeeze the side of it to get it past the taps as well as disconnect the "string" on the back used to help retract the glove box. With the glove box lowered, you can look in and see a small, rectangular door towards the right. Disengage the clip, lower and remove the access door and you'll see the end of the cabin filter. Pull the filter straight out. Next, move the second filter to the left and pull straight out. The new filter may have directional arrows on it indicating the airflow direction. Install the first new filter and slide to the right. Install the second new filter. Install the access door and reassemble.

They get overlooked pretty often. Glad that's all it was!
