Need Suggestions For Gritty Exterior Spray Coating..........

.............for the plastic rear step below the rear hatch door. It's too slippery for my dog to get traction when jumping into the back of the Pathfinder.
Bedliner spray is the closest I can think of, but I'd like to find something less smooth, more like a sandpaper-type of surface.
If the surface to be coated was flat (without the diamond-shaped pattern), I'd use the stick-on (peel off back) stair step material that can be bought in sheets.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

i used bedliner stuff to coat my rock sliders. when i got them they were just painted metal, so if they were wet you'd slip right off.

the bedliner i used (can't remember which, but i got it at home depot i think) sprayed on just like sandpaper. no traction problems since (and not cracking/peeling since i did it a year ago either)

I used Herculiner on my rock rails. It has a large grit sandpaper look to it and really seems to help with traction when I am standing on them. A lot of the spray bedliners are not gritty, but the bedliners that come in a can usually are.

Google "non skid paint." Just need something that will adhere to plastic. This is the Navy solution ;-)

Good idea, my mom's Rot has trouble getting into our PF too. Plus at a 125 pounds of big baby of a dog, he not easy to lift up either.

Just an idea, but how about removing that entire plastic piece then installing a strip of black grip tape like those used on skate boards. I have never taken that part off, i'm guessing it's just a smooth surface underneath but anyway, I think it would be practical for your situation.

Also the grip tape is cheap, can be bought at the local skate shop or ordered online. I think you can even get it in pink, purple and other random colors too if interested, lol.
