Broken Air valve

So I went to fill tire tires up and the metal cap had fused to the valve stem. I tried to get it off with pliers and snapped the valve about halfway down. Is it easy to replace these as it looks like a socket will fit over it. Or is it a pain in the butt with a TPMS thing attached to it inside the tire?

If it's a factory style TPMS sensor, you'll need a new TPMS sensor. This means that the wheel will need to be removed, the tire unseated from the wheel to replace the valve, the tire should be re-balanced after the tire is re-seated and inflated, then the sensor will need to be "woke up" if it's in sleep mode and the sensors can then be initialized, which requires an activation tool and capable scan tool.
If by chance the sensor has been replaced with a Dorman TPMS sensor, then you can get just the valve assy. to replace the broken valve and not have to wake up or initialize the sensor, but you will still have to break down the wheel to remove the sensor and replace the valve.

Crap. Really! Just to replace the stem the tpms needs to be replaced to? It's all original 2005

Yeah....the stem is part of the TPMS sensor. Here's a picture of one:

 Damn. I need to take good care of my stems

Good friend of mine has a 2010 Pathy. He used these to replace his broken TPMS sensor. Working good so far.

Would you recommend having the dealer do this or can a tire shop replace these?

If the tire shop has the equipment to do it, it would probably a lot cheaper than the dealer.
