New Wheels

Well I lifted the pathy several months ago and this week I finally caved and picked up some new wheels. Still on the Toyo Open Country AtII that I threw on with the lift...285/70r17. The wheels I got are Level 8 Strike 6 and if anybody is in the market I highly recommend Discount Tire Direct. Free shipping and they got me out the door under $500. The wheels do have a -12 offset and some extensive trimming was required for the fronts, overall I'm very happy I made the switch. Pics soon to follow.

You are absolutely right...it rained yesterday and the sides are covered in dirt. Oh well that just means it will get more baths.

I've loved the tires as well. They were a little more than I wanted to spend but the 60k mile warranty more than makes up for it.

Here is a quick picture it doesn't show the whole extent, this is the passenger side closest to the door. You can see I had to take a portion of the metal body off to make room for the tire to clear. I also had to trim a ton of the fender liner, more than the picture shows. For the front there are two tabs under the front bumper that hold the fender liner in place, I had to cut out half of the one closest I the outside of the vehicle bc the tire made contact. After that I was able to push the whole liner forward and screw it back in using existing holes in the same tabs. I had to do this for both driver and passenger sides. I think all that makes sense ^?

Yeah, damn trimming.

Does yours have camber bolts in front?

Do you know how each side looks?

This helps with rubbing/trimming.

Mine were completely opposite from what they should have been, and I would rub even with only 33's and the 5" lift.

Doing what was suggested really helped and I am now using 325 65 18's (34.6") and no rub, even when under load/flex.

Yea I do have the camber bolts but I've never messed with em. Thanks for the link I may have to give it a shot. I'm not too mechanically savvy when it comes to aligning but u don't know til you try I guess. Worst case I screw it all up and get it professionally aligned.

looks great, did you have to mess with outside bodywork at all, like that everyone can see?

You don't if you remove all the palstic crap in front, jus behind the bumper and do the camber bolt "mod".

I had mine modified professionally because UI never did the camber bolt mod since I didn't know about it. You can kinda tell in front on this pic as it (the cutting) is not as straight as it could be. I may have some more pics when I first got it done. Oh yeah, that's also what doctahjones meant, sides wont stay clean. Also get some rock noises that you wont appreciate, and sometimes they hit the window.
