either way you do it, since your wheels are steel, this is easy peasy!
1. Jack it up & take off all 4 tires/wheels. 2. Take out the valve cores out of the valve stems (if you dont have a valve core tool u can get at auto parts store) letting out all the air makes step 5 possible 3. scuff the whole surface of the wheel with a green scotch-brite pad or some other light abrasive. 4. wipe them dowm with a handfull of cheesecloth wetted with automotive paint thinner (use good rubber gloves) 5. take a pack of index cards or heavy cardstock paper, with the wheels laying face up, press down on the sidewall of the tire and put overlapping index cards between the tire/wheel. this will prevent overspray from getting on your tires. 6. paint them with the color of your choice with a good quality wheel paint (most auto part stores have specific wheel paint in rattle cans. usually silver, charcoal grey or black). or plasti-dip spray 7. give em a few hours to dry in the sun, take out the cards, put your valve cores back in (just snug, not too tight) air em up & slap em back on! Since your center caps are silver, I'd probably stay silver. keep it simple

once you go black, you'll never go back.....

no really. i did the plastidip and loved it. figured the plasti wouldn't last too long and that i would paint them....took almost 2 years for the original plasti coating to deteriorate enough to warrant the paint.

now that i've painted them i LOVE it even more.

so, while the plasti is a great try before you buy, i say just go ahead and paint them :)
