The Nissan Path

I have 2011 Pathfinder, and want to flush out the old Brake Fluid.

The manual calls out DOT 3, but has DOT 4 replaced DOT 3?

DOT 4 hasn't replaced DOT 3 brake fluid, it just has a higher, wet boiling point, as does DOT 5.1, and it's a little thicker than DOT 3. Dot 3, 4 and 5.1 are all compatible. DOT 5, however is silicone based, and should NOT be mixed with DOT 3, 4 or 5.1.
