What brand to go with ? On rockauto there are a few different brands all in the 315 frequency, was wondering if anyone could clue me in as to which brand is with the $$

I use Dorman Direct-fit TPMS sensors. I have them in an 06 Pathfinder, 08 Pathfinder and an 07 Maxima without any issues. They run about $40 each and have a lifetime warranty, which works out great when dealing with Rockauto because it's an easy exchange. You just need to return the old one to get credited for the replacement, so it cost you about $3 to ship it back. Most of the other brands only have a one year warranty.

Has anyone tried the Huf IntelliSens sensors? They're on sale at tpms.com for $19.98 each and free shipping. Seems like a good deal when replacing all 4 sensors.

I figure I still have one more year on my OEM tires before I replace them. Might as well replace my TPMS sensors at the same time. They will be 6 years old by then.

Make sure there is not a programming tool required to configure them, which could add to the overall cost.

I'm having the tires replaced under warranty and the tire guy said he won't charge me to install and program them since the tires are coming off the rim anyway. I have the Uni-Royal touring and in three years and only 11000 miles on them they're dry rotting and cracking on the side walls and in between the threads. Going to get either Hankook Dynopro H/T or the Primewell Valero A/T since I don't drive much at all and trying to pay for my kids college. So money is a factor. Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure that's included in the price before I get the installs.


2009 Pathfinder 4x4

You are comparing two different types of tires: an all-season tire versus an all-terrain tire. As far as Primewell, I would avoid them. They are made by the Giti Company in China and usually sold through Firestone tire centers. They aren't a bad tire, but they aren't that good, either. The best thing about them is that they are cheap.
If you want an all-terrain tire, the Hankook Dynapro ATM is a very good choice. It's top-rated by Consumer Reports in the all-terrain category and not too hard on the wallet.
If you are looking for a reasonably-priced, all-season tire, then, the Hankook Dynapro H/T is a decent choice. Hankook is currently promoting a $100 rebate. I recently purchased a set of Kumho Crugen HT51's (P265/65R17), which have excellent reviews and a similar tread to the Michelin LTX M/S2 tire. They are rated 720 A A and 70,000 miles. Of course, that doesn't include install costs, but the price is hard to beat!
