I hate to be "that guy" asking another tire fitment question but...

Suspension mods will come, but unfortunately my tires need replacing first. I know 265/75s and 285/70s will fit stock with the melt mod, but has anyone tried to fit the 34x10.5 ko2s stock?

Sir I do not know the answer to your main question but wish to point out that the 265/75 should fit without the melt mod as they were stock tires for the OffRoad trim in early R51s.

Tall and skinny are likely to work. If you having a 16" rim I wouldn't hesitate to put the 255/85 (33x10) on a stock height Pathfinder.

Personally, I would recommend a 285 / 75 / 16

Read the differences about LT and P and plys.

The 255 85 16 will bebtiny bit taller than most 285 75 16 and of course narrower, but these tall 255 85 will be usually one and half times more expensive since they are not as popular.

The cheapest tire that will require no modification, is as palmerwnd pointed out, the 265 75 16.

See if you can get lucky enough to find a good used tire at 34x10.5 then have one mounted and test fit all four corners.

Don’t forget you will need new spare tire when changing significant tire size

I had my reasons for wanting tall and skinny. Picked then you yesterday, required a little heat but worked out nicely.

Incidentally, the price for 34x10.5 was actually marginally cheaper than a 285/75 for the same tire.

A few people have installed the 275/70 R18 which is 33.15 x 10.6. Only melt is fine for going straight and avoiding bumps, but I had to cut inches of plastic from the bumper and bend over an inch of sheet metal out of the way to keep them from rubbing under more harsh driving conditions, i.e. turning while under max compression.
I'll probably try those 34x10.5 when my current KO2s wear out. Diameter make a bigger difference than width in rocky desert.
