I have a 08 V8 pathfinder and was wounding if anyone could help me out with some pics of a R51 with 265/65/18 and 275/65/18. I upgraded from the stock 265/60/18 to 275/60/18 on my pathfinder and want to something a little more Aggressive , but don’t want to go to the 285/65/18. I will say I don’t know why but mine is a V8 and it sets pretty high stock. Any help from any of you would be really appreciated.

The visual difference between these two options is almost unnoticeable. Your talking about 10mm in width. Neither of these options will make the appearance more aggressive unless you're going with an off-road tread pattern. The height of the sidewall is the same so the vehicle height remains the same. The sidewall height is calculated as the aspect ratio- this is the second number in the tire numbers - multiplied by the tire width.

This means the sidewall height of a 275 60 18 vs 265 60 18 will be and additional height of 6mm (275-265) = 10 x .60 = 6 mm.

This is the sidewall height increase which then gets multiplied by 2 since we are dealing with a circle which has two sidewalls - when you look at your tire there will be total of two sidewalls below the wheel hub and above wheel hub.

So the 275 60 18 is 10 mm wider but also 12mm taller

I run BFG K02 275/65/18 on m yV8 pathy. stock suspension. As big as you can go I believe before it rubs.

for those that have upgraded to 265/65R18, are you happy with the results? from above post - gives a 1.1" lift, wondering how it affects acceleration, handling and mileage?


I have a 2011 LE with the 18" rims. plan is to get the the cooper discoverer AT's sold exclusively at Walmart - $133 in the stock 265/60R18 size. A lot less than the 200 for the newer AT3 4S option. I'll take that tradeoff

just want to figure out if its worth going up in diamerter with the 65 aspect ratio. I'd like the extra height, but want to hear from those that have!

I will let you know my outcome.
The tires on the 2008 I just bought are in poor shape.
So I will replace the complete set.
Since 265/60-18s where not available locally to me for install tomorrow and I believe these tires are breaking apart internally (thumb-thumb noises) I ordered
Yokohama Geolanders AT in 265/65-18.

After tomorrows install I will take pics and report findings.

And here are pics just installed YokohamaGeolander AT in 265/65-18 on my 2008 SE:

You can see they fill out the wheelwell nicely.
This is probably exaggerated on my Pathy on the rear wheels, due to weak rear springs ( soon to be replaced with Moog)

I've had the Geolanders G015 on previously, and have had the Kumho HT on for the past 1.5 years. although I have the standard 16" rims. I'm looking at some 18" rims and wondering what the worth may be to do it.

You've had both 16" and 18" version on essentially the same vehicles - what's perceptible between the 18 and 16 in comfort, handling, and pot hole holding ability and the tires?

They are holding up nicely.
One of the very very few AT rated tires that come with a speed rating on "H".
And I wanted that since this is my hiway cruiser (albeit with emergency AT capability, like snow , AT tires are great in rain too, emergency crossing a median etc etc )

And not many tires available in this size too.

I am not saying they are great.
Did not pass roadforce.
But in the end it wasnt too big a problem and I didnt want to deal with the hassle of returning them and they do work well.

maybe have them installed by a place that can do roadforece in install so if there is a issue you can return easily.

Other than that they answer the email exactly for me.
