***updated with lower price. I didn’t realize RockAuto charged tax on the core so I got a larger refund***

Finally got around to upgrading my brakes to V8 fronts. Tired of roaching them out or them warping. 98k miles, longest I've ever had any work on this rig were for about 35k miles and those were EBC Solid front rotors with EBC Yellow Stuff pads all around. After that I tried EBC slotted and dimpled rotors all around with EBC Yellow Stuff pads and those only lasted almost a year and a half and 20.5k miles. These have had almost 3 weeks of use, not a difference where I thought to myself "wow this is amazing" but definitely firmer and better than before. They were soft, spongy and to the point where was considering replacing the booster as well if this didn't make enough of a change. Depending on how long these last I may be willing to try spending the $$ on EBC solid rotors and pads again for the fronts.

All in for $785.34, prices below include any shipping and/or sales tax.

Welcome to the club! I've definitely felt a lot of braking improvement with mine, so far. If I had any complaints, it would be (1) they make a lot of brake dust and (2) the yellow stuff pads are a tad "grabby." If and when the times comes to replace the pads, I believe I might go with the EBC green stuff pads, instead.

Do you guys think I could clear the V8 Brakes with my 16x8 American Racing Wheels with 1.5 inch wheel spacers?

My wheels are 0mm offset, and 4.5 inches of backspacing.

They work with the factory 17" and larger wheels, but not on the factory 16" wheels. As far as aftermarket wheels, I don't know.

They definitely feel stronger now that it's all bedded in well. The AK's are claimed no bed in needed but I still had to bed the rear PowerStops per manu's instructions. We'll see what the longevity is like.

I just bought a V8 and despite it being heavier than both my V6 R51 and my Xterra the vehicle feels like it has stronger brakes than either, just due to the hardware up front.

I find the EBC yellow stuff pads and GD rotors (slotted/dimpled) to be a little too aggressive. If I were to do it again, I would go with the EBS green stuff pads and their RK rotors. Since you already have the larger brakes, you're good on the calipers. You could try just the pads, but it's best to go with a high-quality rotor, such as one with high-carbon content cast iron) when moving to a performance pad. The stainless steel braided brake hoses will firm it up a little, as well.

Out of all the parts I've replaced for my brakes on this Pathy, the steel braided brake lines made the most difference. It could be different for your case though as I already started out with a really sh*tty base to start off with that needed lots of work. I'm already eyeing that Z1 Off Road big brake kit lol...18" wheels minimum. And just yesterday the tire shop just told me I need new rims because my factory ones are no longer good. Salt ate up the wheel around the lip so it's currently leaking air slowly. They put a soft sealant on for now to prevent air from leaking.

My 18s are pretty badly beaten up also but seem to old air.
