The Nissan Path

I've been thinking about upgrading the wheels on my 05 Pathfinder.
couple of questions.
1. what is the bolt pattern?
2. what is the largest rim possible before rubbing and turning become an issue?
3. my Path is 4x4. do I have to get 4x4 specific rims or any wheel size that fit is okay?
4. I was thinking of 20's or 22's.
5. lastly, what do you do with the TPS sensors? remount on new rims or leave alone?

If it were me I'd move them over BUT they may not fit. If I remember right when I had my tires mounted you could clearly see the stock wheel was manufactured with a detent to allow the TPS sensors to mount flat. I also remember hearing this from somewhere else.

bolt pattern is 6x4.5 which limits your options greatly on wheel selection. i would think 20s or 22s would be fine, wheel size doesnt matter as much as tire size. good luck, keep us posted.

I would suggest using my 285/75-16 rubber as the 'outer limits', and fill that external dimesion with as much wheel as you can.

If you use 4x4 off road, or intend to do so at some point, you will not want 20 or 22" wheels. It would be fine if you pop it into 4x4 on a snowy stretch of road with wheels that large, but it would be a nightmare off road.

how about for off road, what rimes/tires combo do you recommend ? 15" rims with ?

Nothing wrong with the stock 16 or 17", with 31"+ of height. 15" would give you the most flotation, but 16 & 17" are a nice compromise. I prefer 16" wheels myself.

well on the V8s we have 18" rims. it's nice but If I was gonna get a set only for going off road, should I get some 15" with big tires ?

Will 15" rims clear the front calipers?

The only thing the 15" allow over the 16" are the selection of tires. You can get some monster tires on 15" wheels, but no so large on 16". Unless you are planning on installing the whenever-to-be-released Calmini lift, I don't think 15" wheels will offer anything over 16 or 17" wheels. RacerZX has a good point. I wonder if the brakes have been beefed up because of the additional weight of the V8? Are 18" wheels the only option for all models of the V8? If so, there might be a very good reason for that.

good question for the beefy brakes. I dunno since I don't have a V6 to compare.
18" are stock size. Very nice rims indeed, looks sharp.
