285/75r16 vs 265/75r16

I need new tires. I got my oil changed today and the tech informed me of a nail in the sidewall of my front right tire
I was planning on getting tires before winter, but I guess this speeds things up a little. The tire is still holding air just fine, but I can't run on a tire with a nail in it all summer so it is time. I use my truck mostly on road and currently have 265/70r16 Goodyear Silent Armor tires. I have had great luck with these tires and am looking at getting them again in a different size.
I want to know if there are any major drawbacks to running the 285/75r16 tires. I have a 2" lift already so I should have less rub on the fenders and can do the heat gun mod if I need to. The 285's are 32.8" and the 265's are 31.7" in diameter. I know the speedo will be a little more off with the 285's, but that is not a concern.
How big of a MPG difference is there between the 2 sizes?
How much is acceleration effected by the bigger tires?
I will be moving to Colorado in the next 6 months, will I have problems with the bigger tires in the mountains on the 7% and 8% grade freeways?
All feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
