im getting a set of spacers for the path next week and did my measurements and i know roughly how much i need to take out of them. ive seen the thread here using a heat gun to push the liner in but is there anyone else whos had to do this and anything i should look out for? i was thinking of cutting the liner altogether and screwing on a separate piece of plastic the goes further into the recess in the wheel well to provide the clearance. what do people reckon is the best method? i only need about 10mm more space to get it to fit.

Not to worry. Managed to get it sorted. Have the pathy at stock height but now running 265/70 r17 bfgs with 30mm spacers and no rubbing after a little surgery on the liners.

heres a pic of the front fender liner , showing the front on the wheel. this was the only part that needed a bit of cutting. i didnt actually have to cut the liner itself. when i took it out theres loads of space behind it where the front fogs are mounted in the bumper. i just heated it up and pushed it further into the void in the bumper, then using the existing holes that the front mudguard uses to clip to the bumper, i bolted the liner down. the only bit i had to cut is the plastic clips that stick out to hold the liner in its original place.

Nice. I have to do mine but I'm too lazy.....

haha sure just keep driving, it will wear itself down eventually. its not too big a job if you have the right gear to lift it. only took a couple of hours but now theres tonnes of space there so i dont need to worry about any rubbing when im offroad

the truck looks really nice with the spacers. i think that i'd like to get some for mine.

So. You had to trim in front of the tire. Mine looks like i will have to trim behind tire when I install them.

Before trimming, I'd say try this.

Basically, adjust your camber bolts the way it is described, and then go in and have the toe adjusted.

This makes for more room near the door panel.

Can't adjust camber bolts. They are the u adjustable ones and can't be changed because they are frozen to sleeve. Which changing causes a whole new can of worms.

@steelpathy...from the plates i take it you are in Ireland....may i ask how much you got the spacers for??...and link pls...just want to compare the quote i got from here

when i put my current tires on i made it 15 ft of backing up and turning before the tires ripped out the front fender lining. never put it back on.

@patomwazi. Yea I got them from alloywheels.ie. you can check em on their site but I got the h&r 30mm. If you send them a mail with what you are looking for they will give you a price. I think the full set was 200 euro but ill double check when im home.

@akley88... ouch.. yea I was pretty worried that would happen when I was leaving the shop. I got them to install the spacers and they said they wouldn't rub but I knew they would So when they put em on and they were rubbing they didnt charge me for the install. They weren't rubbing too bad but I was taking corners extra wide and slow to be sure!

BLIMEY!!!...that is effffffffing cheap!!!....will defo contact them...was quoted the same for almost 380euros...!!!...
