I got a 2010 pathfinder LE. with stock tires and rims. 265/65/R18. And recently i went to a tire shop. and tires that would fit are good year silent armor, and armortrac. Bf goodrich. But based from your experience which one should i get? basically looking for a rugged look but will be good for highway driving

The should be 265 60's, but either way GYSA's seem to be a great choice. I've seen a lot of reviews for them and nothing bu praise.

All depends on their intent and use too though.

You know, that drives the question...what kind of driving? I occasionally hit mud and snow for mountain biking or skiing, but don't really go off road. So mud and snow tires work for me.

I like the LTX's because they look rugged and give really good mud and snow traction while still working really great on the highway. I can get around 20-21 mpg and they're pretty quiet.

I agree that it depends on the types of terrain. But as a practical choice, get an all-terrain tire for you to enjoy wheeling on and off the road.

I run these as well and had never really given a thought about the looks. I guess they don't look that bad considering how good of a highway tire they are. I drive a lot of very twisty roads and they handle quite good as well. I would probably prefer an AT because I do go off-road, but I've yet to find an AT that handles good enough for me. The LTX does an admirable job in the mud/snow but they're not a hard-core tire by any stretch. The upside is the tread wear....I just checked mine this weekend and with 15k miles they're all at 9-10/32nds.

Shipfixer - on what planet are you getting 20-21 mpg??? no way are you getting that.

I can average 20-21 mpg on my 06 LE w/ AWD on a long highway run, like when I make my trip from VA to NJ doing about 70-75 MPH and cruise control. My normal average is 17.5 mpg.

I get this fairly often as well with lots of highway driving on planet earth. Actually in the 22's for long all-highway in the 70-75mph range. My typical commute I average 18-19 and so far this summer my overall average has been 19.5. It will drop once winter fuel hits plus I usually idle more in the winter.

I had goodyear slient armors on my 99 Grand Cherokee. Loved them. They were a great AT tire that did well in all season and weather. Only reason I got rid of them off my Jeep was I lifted the jeep and found some MTs to put on it.

Yup same here. I went camping down in VA last weekend (Labor Day weekend). My truck was loaded that dropped my rear 1-2" and I still averaged 20-21mpg with stock tires.




This trip convinced me (and the wifey) that I really do need some air bags

Mine with about 300# of sand in the cargo area with airbags at 23psi which is where I run them most of the time. Didn't squat a bit.

I intend to use it around 70%hways then 30% offroading. I live around vancouver area so not really worried about getting a lot of snow just tons of rain.

With that said, I'd go with Silent Armors. Not sure what type of offroading you mean but Silent Armors are really good on the trails, and semi non established trails also. That and you've got extra protection against punctures, etc.
