We have a 05 with 265/65/17. My mother-in-law got a new Jeep and has a set of 235/65/17 studded snows that she doesn't need. Any big problem with using those on the 05 pathy.

other then trowing off the speedometer i dont see much of an issue. it will make the pathy feel more powerful with tires that size.

Probably handle like crap. 1.25" narrower on a snow tire doesn't sound fun. Upside is it will probably cut through the snow like a tank.

Speed will read about 3mph slower than actual. Considering mine already reads 2mph slower with stock tires....you might be 5mph off.

Thanks guys. I think I will go with them. I'm in frugal mode and I do like the idea of narrower tires in the snow.

Why do you guys think speedo will read any different between 265 65 17 and 235 65 17 tires? The only difference is width here. 235 tires will cut through snow better, have less weight and less rolling resistance, hence better mpg. It will not handle the turns any better since it is narrower.

actually there is a height difference. if you read the specs on say the blizzak snow tires overall diameter in a 235/6517 is 29.1" same tire in a 265/65/17 is 30.6" in overall diameter. the aspect ratio is the same but your going to a narrower tire so the diameter will go down too.
