My transmission probably just failed. What next?

After ramming my gas pedal to pick up some speed I noticed that it was sluggish and wouldn't deliver power. And when I restarted the car it wouldn't turn over. Then it realized the dreaded tranny fail really occurred to me.
What should I do next? My car is at my used car dealer's workshop. It's been past the warranty period, but I could still buy a service contract as it's not 90days past yet.
Has anyone encountered this before or has filed a new claims on Nissa for their class action lawsuit recently? Or has anyone had a new tranny put in?
Please share your experiences and advice. Anything helps.

I went through the extended Nissan warranty program. There's a buy-in (in my case $1500 canadian) but they replaced the transmission, and all the cooling components plus some minor driveline things.

Technically, the problem would be considered as "pre-existing" if you purchased the warranty now and they may not cover the repair. That doesn't mean you can't try it and doesn't necessarily mean they won't cover it, but, coming from someone who used to be a mechanical inspector for such warranties, that is the way most warranties of these warranties work.

Yeah agreed, I don't think that service contract will work. But depending on mileage, you might still qualify for the nissan warranty repair.

If it's over 100,000 miles, the warranty extension is over.

another extended warranty caveat may be dependent on what is actually covered by the extended warranty
the transmission failure was caused by the radiator failure (causal part), therefore, if the radiator isn't covered by the extended warranty (many warranty extensions only cover major driveline components), then the trans may not be covered either

The Nissan extended warranty covered the radiator and subsequent parts damaged by its failure.

right, but only with the radiator as the causal part resulting in the subsequent transmission failure
otherwise, a generic extended warranty on the vehicle might not be nearly as generous
the service contract that the OP was considering was likely a generic "extended warranty", and unlikely to cover the issue
...............but there are still some missing pieces to this puzzle
