I have been reading about all these failures and decided to do the by-pass myself as I just bought a 4500lbs trailer and didnt want any failures while towing.Pretty easy to do for about $20 and 45min of your time.

Since you'll be towing a big load, you may want to consider adding another transmission fluid cooler and/or a fan to keep temps down.

The trans cooler on the unit is pretty big compared to some aftermarket ones and the I was reading that the only reason it went into the rad cooler was for cold weather warm up.I'm going to pulling the trailer this weekend and I'll see how it perfoms.

It's not the only reason; it also goes through the cooler to provide cooling (obviously). Liquid to liquid coolers are far more efficient than liquid to air coolers. It helps to maintain an optimum temperature for the ATF, which is around 175 degrees F.

^This exactly. While the engine coolant may be "hot" it is typically around 140° near the bottom of the radiator which provides ample cooling capacity to the AFT fluid. On most vehicles the only transmission cooler is the one located in the bottom of the radiator.

Iám looking for a trans temp guage that I can put somewhere in the dash that looks professional so I can keep and eye on the trans temp.I will not be putting the trans lines back into the rad cooler until Nissan comes up with a recall which I dont think will be coming any time soon.

If you have 2wd you could put it in the circle where the transfer case switch would be. Thats where I will put mine
