Ran into an Associate of Mine and told him about this issue and he appeared oblivious. He said he will do the bypass but didn't appear to have any urgency.

This guy has never had any Engine or Trans issues and has 200+ on his Path. I guess there are a few out there eh?

It's like coming across a 98-02 Accord TL Odyssey TL CL etc. With 150-200k With no transmission issues. (I'm an independent used car dealer so I know just about every manufacturer has their issues)

Wow

I guess I'm just letting you guys know that there is at least some form of hope out there.

It's only a relatively small percentage of the radiators that are failing, but if they do fail, it's a very expensive repair if they take out the trans, which is why so many people are so concerned.

I think it's more than just small, I would say that it's more on the the high side. Yeah the repair is very costly.

I would say a high % of failures compared to other vehicles, but small number or failures compared only to the total production of Pathfinders/Xterras/Frontiers within the 2005-2010 range. Bottom line is we don't know which ones will have cooler failures nor when, so sticking with the original radiator and it's integral cooler is a gamble that most of us don't want to take due to the potential cost if it does fail. Since we don't know if or when a recall will be created for the radiators, replacement or "the bypass" simply makes good sense!
