2010 with 87,000 miles *Trans FAIL!*

I took my Pathy in at 87,000 miles to have a once over done before the warranty expired. Up to this point I've had minimal issues but wanted to make sure everything was caught before it came out of my pocket. I told the dealership that the pathy does a hard shift into overdrive (happened maybe twice) but it could have been due to ice (I'm in Alaska). They found coolant in the transmission so now I'm waiting for a new one and a reengineered radiator. Nissan would pay for it except a 2,500 deductable but I have a aftermarket warranty so I'm only out 100 bucks. I guess it could be worse considering its almost 10K for a repair.

It's a V6 so maybe you're safe.

On the other hand I have a new tranny. Maybe I'll blow an engine in the next 13K miles and have a new car. I only took it in beacuse I'm lifting it and wanted it checked before they could blame anything on the lift.

This is horrible news. We really had not heard if 08s had problems but now this?

I have heard of a three 2008s so far that had the radiator failure, all of them V6s. but this is the first I've heard of anything later than that. Glad I replaced my radiator, already!

Aren't all 2005-2010 Pathfinders susceptible to this?
It would be a surprise if a 2011 or 2012 model year pathfinder had this problem.

Nissan extended the radiator warranty for those in the 2005-2010 range, but so far this is the first incident we've heard of after the 2008 model year. The bulk of the problems have been in the 2005-2007 models. We've only heard of a very few 2008 failures, so the thinking has been that the updated radiators started to be implemented somewhere in the 2008 model year. No 2009 models have reported the issue on this forum, that I'm aware of, so having a 2010 experience the issue raises a bit of concern for those post-2008 owners that thought they might be safe!

It is supposed to be ready for pickup today. When I go in I'll find out what the radiator part number was and what they replaced it with. I didn't expect this when I dropped it off but just wanted a once over before the warranty expired. My warranty is through a third party (Fidelity) so they sent an adjuster out to verify Nissan's diagnostics. At least I know it's not the dealership pulling some dump S*^t.

I have a V6 2012 S. It's going to take me around 5 years to get up to this kind of milage but I will post news here if the site still exists

Do you want me to go out and take pics of my radiator? Where would I find the part number on it? If I find it on there, I'll post it here in this thread.

You can if you want to, but the issue is only supposed to affect 05-10 models.

I picked up the pathy yesterday after 2 weeks and $7,591 (I'm out $450) from the dealership. The partnumber for the radiator is below:

21460-9CA0E

However after looking on the invoice I'm not sure if that part number was the bad one or the new part.
